BOOK

The Faroese writer Beinir Bergsson holds an MA in German language and culture and resides in Tórshavn. Beinir has published two poetry collections, “Tann lítli drongurin og beinagrindin” (2017) and “Sólgarðurin” (2021). With the latter, Beinir has written the Faroe Islands’ first explicit collection of queer poetry, a literary genre that is new to the Faroe Islands. Beinir’s poems appear to harbor deeply physical desires that, through the beautiful language, transform into a higher concept of care between human beings.

In 2023, the Faroese translation of the novel “Der Vorleser” (1995) by Bernhard Schlink will be published by the Sprotin publishing house, translated by Beinir.
