TLF Trio

TLF Trio is an experimental chamber ensemble exploring the space between composition and improvisation, where classical traditions dissolve into minimalist forms and intuitive sonic structures. Consisting of cellist Cæcilie Trier, pianist Jakob Littauer, and guitarist M. K. Frøslev, the trio channels a wide range of influences—from the refined modes of Central-European Renaissance and Baroque to the radical freedom of jazz and the sculptural tension of minimalism.

Their music moves with a tactile sensibility—less a linear narrative than a spatial experience. On their debut album Sweet Harmony (Latency, 2022), released by the Parisian experimental imprint Latency, TLF Trio introduced a sound that shifts fluidly from object to atmosphere, as if the music were not only within the room but becoming the room itself.

Each member brings a distinct artistic language to the collaboration. Cæcilie Trier is a Copenhagen-based cellist and composer, whose work as CTM navigates avant-chamber pop with releases on Tambourhinoceros and Posh Isolation. Her artistic world is one of vulnerability and sonic precision, shaped by collaborations with artists like Soho Rezanejad, Croatian Amor, Coco O, and Dawda Jobarteh.

Jakob Littauer, a Berlin-based composer and producer, is known for his electronic avant-pop project Yangze and as a producer behind forward-thinking pop releases from Liss, Varnrable, and MØ. His background in pop and club culture infuses the trio’s acoustic framework with electronic tension and rhythmic intuition.

M. K. Frøslev is a Berlin-based guitarist and visual artist whose solo work (10 Pieces For Guitar And Various Instruments, 2019) and recent film scores (for Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff’s Paradise) explore texture and tone through both musical and visual mediums. His presence in the trio adds a cinematic dimension—bringing together sound, memory, and architecture.

Together, TLF Trio moves with quiet intensity, conjuring a chamber music that resists confinement—always shifting, always listening.
