SAMLING is Alter festivals recurring exploration into potential of a given instrument. This years edition of SAMLING will be an ensemble of prominent guitarists from Denmark and the United States. Much like SAMLING’s drum extravaganza last year, the ensemble will be creating a site-specific piece specially for Alter festival 2022. Building upon the enviroments of the old municipal hospital, the six guitarist will meet and compose the music in the days leading up to the festival. Their music will interact and communicate with both the audience and surroundings, letting the old hospital become a part of the composition. The line up consist of William Tyler, Marisa Anderson, Emil Palme, Alvilda Reiter, Mija Milovic, and Anders Ahle. Besides each guitarist’s own solo projects, they have accumulatively played with band as varied as American bands Lambchop and Sharon Van Etten, Danish acts as Baujilaud, Clarissa Connelly, Slim0, and Trader. All in all this is a performance you do not want to miss.
