Oscar Friisgaard is Danish composer and sound artist with a particular focus on electronic music and spatial audio.

Through an exploratory and sensorially oriented practice, he creates immersive listening experiences in which the spatial dimension of sound opens up new ways of experiencing music – and where spatialisation can establish new listening agendas and strengthen the relationship between artwork and audience.

At this year’s ALTER festival Oscar Friisgaard will present two audio works for multichannel sound – ‘Echoes’ and the newly written ‘Activation I’, which will premiere at ALTER.

Oscar Friisgaard has presented and performed works at institutions such as MONOM (DE), ZiMMT (DE), Bergen Kunsthall (NO), Empire Bio (DK), Vega Art Lab (DK), Roskilde Cathedral (DK), and Ribe Cathedral (DK), and has collaborated with institutions including the IT University of Copenhagen.
