Nic Krog
Nic Krog is a Danish sound artist and musician based in Berlin, whose work moves between the bass-heavy intensity of club culture and a form of introspective sound art, where spoken word, diary fragments, and noisy textures are interwoven into a deeply personal form. Krog explores themes of isolation, identity, and transformation—crafting musical narratives that revolve around the dissolution and reconstruction of the self in a constant dialogue between the private and the collective.
Following a series of releases under the alias Misantrop on labels like Opal Tapes and their own imprint Foul-Up, Krog shifted direction with the audio drama Perfect Pattern (Psychic Liberation, 2025), marking a more raw and self-reflective approach. The work draws inspiration from ’90s queer house, ’60s film art à la Jean-Luc Godard, and the dramaturgy of soap operas—emerging as a hybrid between sonic self-portrait and sound-based narrative. Their debut album Reproaching the Absurd was recently re-released under their own name, while the EP Better Failing moves from fragmentation and breakdown towards a stubborn joy found amid the ruins of old patterns.
