KJ is a Copenhagen-based interdisciplinary artist, known for her willingness to recruit the senses broadly, employing sight, sound and smell in her art. Recently a central part of her experimental practice has revolved around the physicality of sound, and its
relationship to architectural framework and the body of the spectator. KJ has worked a lot with audio, where she plays with the listeners need to identify and categorize sound by presenting abject compositions of unidentifiable elements. Something sounds a bit like a neighbor rummaging about in an apartment next door, but also sounds a bit like distant battle drums. KJ’s work often apply such vague sense of familiarity to explore and question our relationship with our surroundings.
